About MIB & This Policy

MuslimInBusiness (MIB) is a professional business networking platform operated by MIB India Private Limited, a company registered under the Companies Act, 2013 in India. Our platform — available as a mobile application (Android) and accessible at www.muslimInbusiness.com — is designed to connect business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals to foster growth, collaboration, communication, and community.

This Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of personal information submitted by users of the MIB mobile application and website. By registering on or using the MIB platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.

This policy is drafted in compliance with the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and applicable provisions of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) of India.

Information We Collect

To provide you with a meaningful and effective networking experience, MIB collects different categories of information at the time of registration, profile completion, and ongoing platform use.

📌 We do not collect sensitive financial information such as credit/debit card numbers or bank account details through the MIB app. Any payment-related processing is handled by certified third-party payment gateways.

How We Use Your Data

MIB uses the information collected solely for lawful, defined, and transparent purposes aligned with the services we offer:

  • To create, verify, and manage your MIB member profile and account
  • To enable discovery between business owners and entrepreneurs within the MIB community
  • To facilitate in-app messaging, connection requests, and collaboration features
  • To display your business information in our member directory (based on your visibility settings)
  • To send you platform notifications, event alerts, community updates, and relevant newsletters
  • To personalise your experience and suggest relevant connections, events, or business opportunities
  • To improve our platform features, fix technical issues, and conduct analytics on usage patterns
  • To verify your identity and ensure the security and integrity of the MIB community
  • To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal obligations in India
  • To handle grievances, disputes, or support requests raised by you

We will never use your personal data for purposes other than those described above without your prior consent. You may update your communication and visibility preferences at any time through your account settings.

Data Sharing & Disclosure

MIB does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for commercial purposes. However, limited sharing may occur in the following circumstances:

  • Within the Platform: Your profile information (name, business details, location, and profile picture) is visible to other verified MIB members, subject to your privacy settings.
  • Service Providers: We may share data with trusted technology vendors (e.g., cloud hosting, push notification, analytics) who operate under strict confidentiality and data processing agreements.
  • Payment Processors: Transaction-related data is shared only with licensed payment gateways to complete membership or service payments.
  • Legal Obligations: We may disclose information when required by law, court orders, government authorities, or to protect MIB's legal rights and those of our members.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user data may be transferred as part of the transaction, with notice provided to you.

🔒 Any third party with whom we share data is contractually obligated to protect it and may only use it for the specified purpose on behalf of MIB.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers located in India. We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

  • Encryption of data in transit using TLS (Transport Layer Security)
  • Encrypted storage for sensitive fields such as passwords and contact information
  • Access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel only
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Secure backup protocols and disaster recovery procedures

While we employ strong safeguards, no system can guarantee 100% security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you and the appropriate regulatory authority as required under Indian law.

As a data principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable Indian law, you are entitled to the following rights:

Section 07

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

The MIB website (www.muslimInbusiness.com) uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your browsing experience, understand how users interact with our site, and deliver relevant information.

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the website to function properly (e.g., session management, login state). These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics Cookies: Help us understand page visits, traffic sources, and user behaviour (e.g., Google Analytics). These are anonymised and aggregated.
  • Preference Cookies: Remember your settings such as language or display preferences.

The MIB mobile application does not use browser cookies but may use device identifiers and analytics SDKs (such as Firebase) to analyse in-app behaviour and improve the user experience. You can reset your device's advertising ID at any time via your device settings.

Third-Party Services

Our platform may integrate with or link to third-party services, including but not limited to:

  • Payment gateways (e.g., Razorpay, PhonePe) for membership and transaction processing
  • Firebase / Google Cloud for hosting, authentication, and real-time database services
  • Google Maps API for location-based features
  • WhatsApp / email integrations for event notifications and communications
  • Social login providers (e.g., Google Sign-In) for streamlined onboarding

Each of these third parties operates under their own privacy policies. MIB is not responsible for the data practices of these external services. We encourage you to review their respective policies before engaging with their services.

Section 09

Children's Privacy

The MIB platform is designed exclusively for business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18 years. If we become aware that a person under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete such data from our records.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has registered on MIB, please contact us immediately at privacy@muslimInbusiness.com.

Section 10

Data Retention Policy

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide our services. Specific retention periods are:

  • Active account data is retained for the duration of your membership and up to 2 years after account deactivation or deletion request
  • Transaction and payment records are retained for 7 years in compliance with Indian financial regulations
  • Communication logs and support tickets are retained for up to 3 years
  • Aggregated, anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot identify individual users

Upon expiry of the applicable retention period, data is securely deleted or anonymised. You may request early deletion of your data by submitting a request as outlined in Section 06.

Section 11

Changes to This Policy

MIB India Pvt. Ltd. reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
  • Send a push notification and/or email to all registered users
  • Display a prominent notice on the MIB app and website for a minimum of 30 days

Your continued use of the MIB platform after the effective date of any updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
